I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but was quickly whisked away to Maine, where I grew up. After attending Brown University for music and theater, and spending three years in Boston playing bass, keyboards, trumpet and singing in various bands and getting a master's in print journalism from Boston University, I moved to North Haven, an island in Maine's Penobscot Bay. There, I teach music, theater and English at North Haven Community School. I also serve as a volunteer EMT, play music, swim, and write about all of it.

I am represented by Anna Worrall at The Gernert Company.
